Episode 3

And why the hell not? Pop Montreal is without a doubt an internationally-flavoured festival, but it's hard to ignore how much great local talent fills out a chunk of the lineup. But when we say 'fills out', don't for a second take that to mean that there's any kind of filler involved.

If you think the launch of Wolf Parade's full length debut is the only thing happening for Montreal music at the end of September, we're here to prove that you can at least double your pleasure, and that the well in this fine city is far from dry.

Fact is, there are so many good local bands, it would be a shame to have these pre-festival podcasts come and go without featuring as many of them as possible. So the solution is this: a two part series within the PopCasts featuring only Montreal bands who are playing at the festival. I'm excited to say that this is also going to include the debut of a brand-spanking new track by Islands off their now completed and soon (but not soon enough) to be released album. But let's not get too ahead of ourselves; there's plenty to rejoice about.....in this episode:

The Adam Brown, Irving Fields, Socalled, Code Pie, Pavilion Projects, Torngat, Orillia Opry

I should also say that if there's something you want to see featured on the PopCast, now's a good time to start getting your requests in. We're going to do our best to get them out at a more frequent rate effective immediately, so check back often, or subscribe over at Dig a Pony.
